What do I need to know about scheduling an appointment at SK2 Dental?
Whenever possible, we ask you to schedule your appointment in advance, especially for follow-up visits and routine dental checkups and cleanings. For dental emergencies, we offer same-day appointments during office hours.
We ask you to arrive at least 10 minutes before your appointment time so you can complete any necessary paperwork for your insurance company and your medical record. You can also visit our Patient Forms page to get a head start on your paperwork.
What dental insurance plans do you accept?
We accept all dental PPO plans, as well as Medicaid and CHIP (for patients under the age of 21). We also offer no-interest financing plans through CareCredit and Lending Club.
How often should I brush and floss?
It is important to brush and floss often and thoroughly in order to remove plaque and bacteria that cause dental diseases like tooth decay and gum disease. We recommend that you brush your teeth at least twice every day, or after every meal, and floss at least once every day.
How often should I visit the dentist for a dental exam and cleaning?
We recommend that you visit Dr. Ngo and Dr. Chao for a dental exam and cleaning at least twice each year. Based on your specific dental needs, we may suggest more frequent visits to ensure that your smile stays in good health. To schedule your next checkup and cleaning, call us today at 469-330-9968.
Why is it important to floss?
While brushing your teeth removes bacteria, plaque, and food debris from the tooth surfaces, brushing is not very effective at cleaning the spaces between your teeth. These areas are highly susceptible to decay and gum disease. Flossing is the best way to clean between your teeth and under the gum line. Be sure to floss at least once every day; the most important time to floss is at night before going to bed. This helps to disrupt plaque from building up, which can damage the teeth, gums, and bone.
